Understanding Weather Forecast NUMBERS

Tru here.

i know in many places it is still the “dog days” of August, but temperatures will be changing soon.

Unfortunately most weather forecasts are totally useless to me
— because they just involve a lot of (meaningless) NUMBERS.

i no longer understand numerical concepts;
i need PICTURES to understand numbers.
So Wunderground works well for me.

For those who process thought better in visual processing (like me),
i have found the 10-day forecast in Wunderground is a blessing.

shows temperature with red and purple,
clouds with gray,
chance of rain or snow with blue,
and wind is on the bottom graph.
With Wunderground weather forecast, i can schedule appropriate activities … and appropriate clothing.

  1. Very nice site and nice find on weather info. So you are saying that if you hear or see things like Mon 67 with 40% chance of rain, you can’t fully understand? I ask because that picture you posted of how you can understand the weather is more confusing to me. Too much info. I have FTD and that may be why.

    • THANKS for the comment Scott.

      Yes; Too much info is also a problem for me, but …numbers are even more of a problem; 67 and 76 are pretty much the same to me. Percent means i get to try to use even more MATH (percent goes with 100, so 100 divided by 2 = 50, so that means 40 is something less than half a probability of rain) . Most of my life was in accounting, but my number ability was one of the first things to go for me. Graph line gives me context for the 10-day picture.

      i get much more from the graphs; the line that shows a certain day will be warmest, a certain day will be coldest. The blue line shows if i need to figure for rain, and the bottom line shows wind (which can be a big issue right here at the harbor).
