Umbrella Card

Tru here.

1am. Been awake since midnight, with my mind busy creating a card for a friend.  Friend will probably never see the card because there are a number of supplies that i do not have.

But here are the plans.
Created greeting card in my mind, using rock salt for background impression on paper, then dry-brushing a bluish-stormy-gray ink over the raised impression created by the rock-salt (masking an area for umbrella). Create umbrella on cover from three layers index stock paper stacked and glued, plus one layer shiny blue vellum on top. Use marker for handle.  Inside the card, Umbrella can be stamped from handmade stamp (using foam over shrinky plastic) then marker for handle.

Clear vellum, cut in Ribbon-shape over the picture, with blue lettering, “It never rains but it pours”.  Bottom ribbon continues ” … so … “. (inside card) “Thank you for sharing your umbrella).

Will probably never get this greeting card made, but writing the plans may allow me to go back to sleep (now past 2am).

Writing the plans provides archiving of idea, and sets my mind at ease even if card is never created.  Allowing myself these creative mental-vacations is wonderful, but often i am unable to release/relax because i fret about losing the idea, steps, process, and image.
