WHY Can’t you Hear Me?
You see me, yet you can’t hear me, …
Yes my words are mixed up, but it all makes perfect sense to me,
If you listen, and listen very carefully, all, may well, become clear,
I repeat myself you say?
Thing is, I don’t know I do that,
Every sentence is brand new to me,
a new dawn
a new day, …
… My words don’t come out like yours,
well, not in the same order anyway,
But if you listen,
and I mean REALLY Listen,
you will hear what I have to say,
… Did I say “Thirsty” or “Cold, or did I say “Hungry?
Did I repeat those words? Over and over again,
Or are they dotted in between all the other words I am trying to say, …
Communication works both way with people with dementia,
Listening
is Just as important as speaking
Best wishes
