especially a person remaining alive after an event in which others have died,
is know as a survivor
yet we say that there are no dementia survivors.
I disagree because after living with Alzheimer’s for almost 17 years,
I have survived everything that my dementia has thrown at me.
carrying a white flower indicating that
I am a dementia survivor
and living beyond my diagnosis.
