Hey Tru, I have been really struggling lately. In August, I had to go to a wheelchair permanently. I have had speech problems on and off, but the past 3 days I haven’t been able to talk. I’m so sad as I grieve all I have lost and will lose. I’ve never been a writer, but I wrote this today. You are free to use it. — Max

“Tomorrow is a New Day”
Tomorrow is a new day.
Today I can’t walk, but tomorrow I will.
Good days mixed with bad.
Cherish the good, endure the bad.
Weeks turned to months as I believed these words.
Until I walked no more.
Tomorrow is a new day.
Today I can’t talk, but tomorrow I will.
Good days mixed with bad.
On the good, I record the books I want to read
to precious grandchildren I will never meet.
Most days are good, and I cherish my speech.
Until the words are unable to escape my lips.
Tomorrow is a new day.
Today I can’t control my right arm, but tomorrow I will.
Writing and feeding myself become a challenge.
Good days mixed with bad.
I cherish the good days and endure the bad,
Until that day when I will no longer care for myself.
Journeys I will never take Are trapped in my legs.
Thoughts I can never say Are trapped in my head.
Dreams I had for growing old,
Anniversaries and grandchildren
Never to be.
It is what it is, And I cherish each day.
Thankful for an incredible family and true friends.
Knowing that those whom I love most will have to endure the pain,
When I am finally free.
