2a-03: I Remember “Daddy”
Daddy
You always showed me I was important:
I remember …
looking up at broad shoulders
and sparkling eyes
that looked directly into mine.
I remember …
the expression on your face
with your voice so low
when I put on that short SHORT skirt.
I remember …
Dancing with you;
a small girl with her “Daddy”
and the pride in the way you moved.
You’re important to me, too,
and I wish I could dance with you again …
and tell you, “I love you, Daddy.”
