From my friend Harry Urban, living with Alzheimer’s diagnosis almost 19 years now.  Anyone who knows Harry Urban knows the excitement he experiences with the joy of giving.  He shared these words on 11Dec2022 and the self-designed ornament on 29Nov2022:

Everyone that knows me understands that I celebrate the spirit of Christmas all year round.
The spirit of Christmas is an emotional state the goes along with the true meaning of Christmas.

During the Christmas Holidays people are not afraid to show love and enjoy living. We set aside our busy lives to help those that are not as fortunate as we are and give them support without question.

I get the Christmas spirit high when I make gifts and give freely.
It is hard to explain the emotions I feel helping someone else.
I can see the love and joy someone feels when they receive
a handmade gift from someone that has a medical condition.

My dementia causes all kind of emotional fears that medicine does not treat,
and we need to find ways to partner with our dementia to find a purpose in life.
I will never forget the true meaning of Christmas
because I celebrate my Christmas spirit year round.
